If you would like to learn more about what goes on at the Dorset Library, please come in and sign-up to receive the Dorset Library eletter which is sent out periodically when we have new materials and activities occurring.

Each month the Library displays the work of a local artist.
On the first Saturday of each month a reception is held so you may meet the artist.

VERMONT READS…..
The Vermont Humanities Council is once again sponsoring a statewide READ. The title this year is THE EMPEROR WAS DIVINE. more information >

In May, there will be a Story Hour: ‘Asian Culture in Books’ for ages 5 – 12. Children will listen to several stories, practice using chop sticks, learn a Japanese game, and create an origami ornament. We also hope to have a 7th grade class present a program based on the book.

In July, there will be an Origami Demonstration and Workshop for Adults and an opportunity to learn how to make sushi.

SPRING BREAK from SCHOOL 2009
April 14 A “Celebration of Books” party from 3 – 5 pm. featuring new children’s books from a Libri Foundation Matching Grant. There will be stories, games, treats, and a craft for children from 4 years old and older.

April 16 There will be a showing of the “Movie: Space Dogs” from 3 – 5 pm. Popcorn provided!

SUMMER VACATION!
This year’s Summer Reading Theme is “Be Creative @ Your Library” and I am planning two activity weeks. They will each run Mon. – Thur. from 10 am – Noon. More information >
