VERMONT
READS…..
The Vermont Humanities Council is once again sponsoring a statewide
READ. The title this year is THE EMPEROR WAS DIVINE
The book is about the internment of Japanese-Americans during
World War II and how they handled the disruption to their lives.
It is readable from 5th grade through adult and is great for family
discussions. We will be having several related programs between
now and the end of the summer. We have lots of copies of the book
so come in and borrow one!
JULY
Origami

to learn how to make sushi.
SUMMER
VACATION
This year’s Summer Reading Theme is “Be Creative @
Your Library” and I am planning two activity weeks. They
will each run Mon. – Thur. from 10 am – Noon.
The first, in July, will be for 4 yr olds through 7 years. The
second will be in August for children 8 and older. Both will have
a theme of Asian Culture and include stories, games, crafts, creative
writing and more. If you are interested, please let the library
know. 867-5774.
