The
Dorset Library has lots of interesting things for young people
to enjoy.
Recently
the Dorset Library received a 2 to 1 matching grant from the Libri
Foundation for children’s board books, picture books and
fiction books. Friends of the Library contributed $350 and the
Libri Foundation contributed $700. The library received 63 books
which will be displayed in the library during November ready for
circulation. A “NEW BOOK GATHERING” will be held for
all children in mid-November.
The
library has purchased many books
and audio books this year. Stop in the library and enjoy the
new books and old favorites!
Preschoolers
and Kindergarten Students
might like the board books and floor puzzles. You may use these
at the library or borrow them to use at home. You can also listen
to a book on tape at the library while you look at the book! After
a story or two, you might like play with the puppets or play a
game.
Elementary
Kids
will find many books on cassettes and CDs so you can enjoy stories
while you are in the car. A wealth of books will fulfill your
every need. Computer programs are available for ages 3 and older.
COMPUTERS
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Sign-up for an introduction to computer programs that you haven’t
tried yet. If you are 7 or younger, you need to work with an adult
at the computer. Not only will we introduce you to new programs,
I will teach young people to use word art and other graphic programs.
A
wide variety of movies, on DVDs, are available
for members. New DVDs may be borrowed for 3 nights; all other
DVDs may be borrowed for a week. There is a fine of $2 per night
for late DVDs. We do not renew or reserve DVDs.
Check out the
partial list
of juvenile DVDs!
Young Adults will
find books they will enjoy on the first floor. They will find
YA audio books on both the first floor next to the YA books.
